Fall Festival at Holy Grill
On Thursday, October 31, the Holy Grill initiative of the Interfaith Federation held its first-ever Fall/Halloween festival for the Zion City Community of Baton Rouge. At least 48 children with their families came to enjoy the festivities at the Cadillac Street Park gymnasium. The evening included a costume contest, carnival-style games, a hot meal and, of course, lots of Halloween treats. Several of the parents and children stopped to thank volunteers for planning the event, which provided a safe and dry place for them to enjoy Halloween on a rainy evening.
The festival was sponsored by St. Paul Lutheran Church through the Thrivent Community Impact Program, and staffed by volunteers from the Zion City community as well as volunteers from Trinity Episcopal and the Unitarian Church of Baton Rouge.
