Recent Community Events

This post will cover a couple of recent interfaith community events.

First, an interfaith prayer service for the care of the earth was held on August 28 at St. George Catholic Church. Planned and hosted by the St. George Creation Care Ministry team, the event featured prayers from many different religious traditions. Second, Executive Director Jon Parks and Board Vice-President Joel Clement participated in the 2024 Religious Freedom Summit, held at the LSU Herbert Law Center on September 6. Sponsored by the Louisiana Religious Freedom Alliance, the Summit engaged legal and religious leaders through panel discussions and presentation. The gallery below features photos from the opening panel discussion, which also included Rabbi Sarah Smiley (Unified Jewish Congregation of Baton Rouge), Quinn Millington and Board President Joshua Poole (both from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
