Synagogue Visit – Festival of Sukkot
On Wednesday, October 16, members of the Federation joined in a time of worship and celebration with our friends at the Unified Jewish Synagogue. This was the fall meeting of our Faith of Our Neighbors initiative, a program designed to foster understanding and dialogue through visits to local houses of worship.
Our visit this year celebrated the beginning of the Jewish Sukkot holiday, a festival of harvest and hospitality. We gathered for a time of worship and prayer, followed by a meal together outdoors in the sukkah, a traditional structure built especially for this holiday each year.
Many thanks to the leadership of the synagogue who prepared for our visit and so openly shared their faith and food with us!
